MORE THAN JUST A PICTURE – Travel & Communication

ARTIST TALK in Cologne

It all began with an unexpected phone call on February 3, 2025: Jeannette Gräfin Beissel discovered my profile on LinkedIn and wanted to interview me for her new book. On the spur of the moment, I invited her to INSPIRATION WEEK 2025 at Haus Marck – under the motto: “Do we still need originals in the digital age?” For Jeannette, the answer was clear: Yes!

On site, in the midst of my artistic environment, the planned interview developed into an intense dialogue about art, authenticity, and values. Her favorite picture from my new series “MARCO – Venice in the footsteps of Marco Polo” was FERNWEH. Jeannette and her husband Franz Count Beissel von Gymnich spontaneously stayed overnight, a sign of genuine connection with ample opportunity for inspiring conversations. While Jeannette conducted the interview with me the next morning, historian Virginia, who had traveled from her hometown of Venice for INSPIRATION WEEK, accompanied the count through historic Tecklenburg.

The count finally decided on his personal favorite work: TOR ZU MARCO.

In November, we met again in Cologne: Virginia and I were guests at ART COLOGNE at the countess's invitation—an inspiring exchange about art, culture, and international perspectives that continues to have an impact.
